It is not at all common place to find someone who has the qualities of
professionalism, empathy, insightfullness and intelligence rolled up into one; but, this indeed, describes Carol Albers. I would assume that most of the people who want to adopt a child have good intentions and motives for doing so. We would all like to make an honest and favorable impression, but this may mean that the person doing the Home Study would make us feel at ease and be ourselves, without thinking too much about the fact that we were being analyzed. From the start, Carol made us feel at ease as if we had already known her.

When Carol arrived to us for the first time, in Rome, Italy (where we
were living at the time) we went to pick her up at the wrong airport. She was waiting for us for about forty-five minutes at another airport about one hour away. I thought, “Oh no, what a terrible first impression we are making!” When we finally arrived at the right airport, there I found a very kind, gentle and down-to-earth woman and I breathed a sigh of relief.

So, by allowing us to take down our gard and rid us of any undo anxiety, she was able to give a true and insightful assesment of who we really were as perspective parents and was able to write an accurate Home Study report.

Carol was able to see and to understand all the special complexities of our case. She had empathy and was able to deeply understand our concerns, needs and desires. Her professionalism, not only included her intuitive insight, but her thoroughness and responsiveness to all the issues that arose long after she wrote our Home Study, three years ago. It has been a joy for me and my husband to come to know her and I feel sure that you too will have a positive experience in knowing her and have a reassurance that she will be there from the beginning to the end, in the same way as I found her patiently waiting for us at the airport three years ago.
